CodiLime is a software and network engineering industry expert and the first-choice service partner for top global networking hardware providers, software providers and telecoms. We create proofs-of-concept, help our clients build new products, nurture existing ones and provide services in production environments. The project and the team

We are developing modern Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) solutions for a leading networking equipment manufacturer. We are working with cloud-native, containerized software and services as well as with user-space and kernel-space drivers for advanced network interface cards (smartNIC).

What else you should know:

• We often work using client-supplied hardware and tools
• Our projects may be managed by our PMs or directly by the client
• We use the Agile approach (kanban/scrum) whenever possible
• We work with both the US and Europe

Your role

As a part of the project team, your responsibility will be to:

• Develop software using C, C++ and create unit tests for your code
• Take part in technical discussions with the team and the client regarding the developed solutions
• Research and define how to best implement new client requirements
• Fix bugs efficiently and effectively and find workarounds for blockers
• Build and expand the technical knowledge base

Do we have a match?

As a Principal Software Engineer, you must meet most of the following criteria:

• Experience in networking acceleration & virtualization (DPDK, XDP/eBPF, SR-IOV, vDPA)
• Linux networking stack knowledge (TCP stack, Netfilter, TC, etc.)
• Experience in development of SDN solutions (e.g. Tungsten Fabric, OvS)
• Experience with orchestrators (Kubernetes, OpenStack, OpenShift, etc.)
• Excellent C programming for low level & Linux driver programming (kernel/user space)
• Excellent C++ programming skills
• Advanced networking knowledge (VLAN, VxLAN, MPLS, VRFs, FRR, etc.)

Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate the nice-to-haves:

• Experience with hardware offloading solutions (especially network offloading)
• Experience with Network OSes (e.g. SONiC, Aruba, Junos OS)
• Good knowledge of network security protocols (e.g IPSec, HTTPS, SSL, TLS etc.)
• Experience with HW/SW accelerating AI and machine learning
• Experience in P4 and FPGA (VHDL/Verilog) development
• Experience with Linux Yocto operating system for embedded and IoT software
